Blogging is a marketing channel that supports the growth of your business, much like social media, direct marketing, and email. Right now, in the digital community AI blogging is trending and making waves, causing many to ask if AI blogging will replace human written blogs. At REAL Moxie LLC, we pride ourselves on our great SEO blogging written by real people! We intend to continue to provide effective human written SEO strategies going forward. So, let’s talk about why that is our position on this hot topic.

Blogging and writing with AI is used across the web FAR more often than you’d think. The problem is – Google recently confirmed its stance ‘that AI-generated content is “spam.”’ (Should You Play with Blog Writing AI? (Even If Google Says It’s Spam?) (contenthacker.com)) Human bloggers can increase your visibility, encourage your brand, and strengthen your customer base by creating relevant content that fuels your search engine optimization. Careful use of keywords can make your business a resource for potential customers, increasing traffic to your website and keeping your audience advised. Thoughtful content distribution is the key to increasing brand recognition, collecting followers, and turning readers into customers. But if you take all this away and replace it with AI writing, what happens?

Blogging with AI is artificial intelligence software specifically created for the act of content writing. Typically, this technology analyzes and learns from huge amounts of data – in this case, language usage across the web – and combines this data to help finish your sentences, brainstorm content ideas, and edit your writing. These tools require your input to work. These days, the AI is advanced enough to create blogging content that can fool most people into thinking a human wrote it. Blog writing AI can’t produce anything on its own, the technology needs a human prompt as well as direction to produce anything coherent. AI is now advanced enough to create a small amount of content that can fool most people into thinking a human wrote it. But the AI can’t produce anything coherent on its own. The AI guesses what to write next based on all of the text it has crawled in the past – think of it like supercharged predictive text. This is a downside of AI, especially when blogging, because the AI is guessing what words should come next based on whatever content is already published on the internet. Another issue with predictive text guessing, the pieced together words might not produce factual statements.

Owner of REAL Moxie LLC, Jayana weighs in with her own thoughts of AI blogging:

“AI generated content dumbs down and removes the beauty of writing. Search engine algorithms are bot/data driven. Blogging is how we create content that both informs and attracts the attention of the search engine algorithm. Using AI to predictively plagiarize existing content to attract the attention of data driven algorithms seems wrong. OK, I acknowledge that AI is a part of our future – but if that is the case with blogging – then I see a future where all the content on the internet is bastardized within itself, competing for visibility with itself, and ranking relevance against itself. AI will surely miss the mark when it comes to originality and purpose! No student will learn how to research, analyze, ponder, and present their thoughts in words…why would they when they can just have the internet write for them? Freedom of expression gets pushed aside and replaced by generic regurgitated words which hold no power or conviction. Good writing skills and relatable articles, written by real people, becomes obsolete and we bury true freedom of thought and intention. REAL Moxie will continue to employ people with brilliant minds and produce great SEO blogs. We will not use apps to do our work.”
Effective business blogging takes commitment and skill. Blogs that are infrequently updated, contain little relevant information, or have poor keyword usage will harm search engine rankings more than they help them. This means that even though AI writing might be convenient or helpful in some situations, it will still need to be edited by a human to prevent lameness. Learning and practicing the most effective techniques to support your marketing efforts can be time-consuming and difficult when you’re trying to run a business. REAL Moxie understands this, and our dedicated expert bloggers are here to help. We do the research, the writing, and the distribution to help maximize your potential so you can focus on the work that makes your company great.
